Dr. Tia Ouimet is a licensed psychologist and member of the Ordre des psychologues du Québec. She works with children, adolescents, adults, and families, with a practice focused primarily on psychological assessment, as well as brief therapy and parent consultation.

Dr. Ouimet holds a doctorate in School and Applied Child Psychology from McGill University. Her doctoral research at the Montreal Neurological Institute focused on sensory processing and brain development in autistic children and adolescents, and her work has been published in peer-reviewed scientific journals. She completed her clinical training in Child Psychiatry at the Jewish General Hospital and in the Intensive Psychiatric Adolescent Program at the Douglas Mental Health University Institute.

With nearly 15 years of clinical experience, Dr. Ouimet has worked across hospital, school, specialized mental health, and private practice settings. Her experience spans autism, ADHD, learning differences, anxiety, and mood concerns, including in the context of developmental or medical complexity.

 

Across her work, Dr. Ouimet takes a warm, collaborative, and

developmentally informed approach. She is interested not only in identifying areas of difficulty, but in understanding the broader context in which those difficulties occur, including a person’s strengths and developmental history. Her goal is to provide clear, thoughtful guidance that helps clients and families make sense of what is going on and what may be helpful moving forward.
