About

Dr. Ouimet is a psychologist specializing in child and adolescent development. She obtained her doctoral degree in School & Applied Child Psychology at McGill University, and completed her clinical training in the Department of Child Psychiatry at the Jewish General Hospital and in the Intensive Psychiatric Adolescent Program of the Douglas Mental Health University Institute. She is member of the Ordre des Psychologues du Quebec.

Dr. Ouimet has worked with children, adolescents, and families experiencing a range of issues (anxiety, depression, learning disorders, eating disorders, ASD, grief, emotion regulation and behaviour difficulties, ADHD, sleep issues) and across settings such as hospitals, schools, rehabilitation centres, and private practice. She uses a relationship-based, developmental approach that is grounded in evidence-based practice. She also works from a cognitive-behavioural framework, incorporating mindfulness- and strengths-based perspectives as well as principles from parent-child models in order to individualize treatment to each child and their family.
